April 10 – Deep Dive into Seaweeds with Shifting Tides at Pal’s:

Sea weed held aloft as an example of a renewable, edible super food

Join us for an evening of coastal discovery with Alanna Kieffer of Shifting Tides, as we dive into the world of local seaweed. We're bringing together education and appetite for an informal, hands-on exploration of the "superfoods” growing and being farmed right off our coast.

Large vats placed in full sunshine with fresh sea water for growing edible sea weed

Beginning with an interactive workshop exploring local seaweed varieties, harvesting ethics, and practical ways to incorporate sea vegetables into everyday cooking. You'll get to see touch and feel your way through how your lunch will make its way to your table, and Pal's has built a fun menu around several local seaweed varieties; wakame, kombu, and dulse, showcasing their flavor, versatility, and ease of use.

What’s on the Menu?

- wakame calamari salad tostadas

- charred kombu hushpuppies

- grilled rainbow trout over braised wakame
