Exciting Improvements Coming to Hayden Bay Marina

Over the coming months, Columbia Crossings will begin a phased refurbishment of one of Portland's most scenic marinas, bringing modern infrastructure and thoughtful landscape improvements while preserving the marina's familiar layout and character.
The existing docks at Hayden Bay were originally constructed in the 1970s using treated wood and foam-filled tires for flotation. While these materials served the marina well for decades, they no longer meet Columbia Crossings' standards for longevity, performance, and environmental stewardship.
To modernize the marina, Columbia Crossings has partnered with Tiger Docks to fabricate new dock frames constructed from galvanized steel with durable concrete decking. The upgraded docks will provide a stronger, longer-lasting foundation while maintaining the current configuration that customers know and appreciate.
Additional improvements will include new utility pedestals from Marina Electrical Equipment, complete with upgraded electrical service, water hookups, and lighting. Both Tiger Docks and Marina Electrical Equipment are American companies, with their products designed and manufactured in the United States—a reflection of Columbia Crossings' commitment to investing in high-quality, domestically made infrastructure. Visitors may also look forward to new security fencing, updated signage, enhanced lighting, and other upland improvements that will complement the marina's beautiful natural setting.
The refurbishment is being led by Paul Tikonov and his team under the supervision of John Walker. The replacement docks are currently being assembled and outfitted at Tomahawk Bay, with the first phase of installation anticipated to begin in early September. Construction will start near the gangway before progressing through the marina in phases.
Upland improvements will include refreshed landscaping designed by Nick Lake of Earth Ecology. You may recognize Lake's native landscaping work from Tomahawk Bay and Jantzen Bay and we are looking forward to his expanded contributions to the Hayden Bay community.
These investments reflect Columbia Crossings' long-term commitment to Hayden Bay Marina and the people who call it home. We appreciate the patience and support of our customers and the Hayden Bay community as this work gets underway, and we look forward to creating a modern marina that is worthy of its spectacular surroundings.
