Sean & Alyson Janson Bring Jantzen Fuel Depot Home Again

Columbia Crossings is excited to welcome new owners Sean and Alyson Janson to the Jantzen Fuel Depot & Cascade Paddle Boards family. Lifelong Portland/Vancouver residents, Sean and Alyson are passionate about creating a welcoming, reliable, and fun stop for everyone enjoying time on the Columbia River.

Their vision is simple: make Jantzen Fuel Depot a must-stop destination for local boaters and help more people discover Hayden Island through paddle board and kayak rentals.

For Sean, this opportunity is especially meaningful.

Fun fact: Jantzen Fuel Depot was Sean’s very first job.

He started working summers at the dock in 1992 at just 15 years old, continued through high school and college, and eventually became manager — later serving as Harbormaster at Tomahawk Bay. After leaving the island in 2002 to pursue new opportunities (and marrying Alyson), life has now brought him full circle.

“This really feels like coming home,” Sean says.

Together, Sean and Alyson are focused on:

• Expanded hours

• Better communication with customers

• Increased inventory and supplies

• Growing paddle board & kayak rentals

• Creating a friendly, community-first dock experience
